Buying cryptocurrency – easily, securely and quickly

Cryptonow brings digital currency to the masses. Right now, newbies and experts alike can purchase bitcoins and other cryptocurrencies without complicated registration processes.

Challenge

For many people, access to cryptocurrencies is complicated and difficult. Cryptonow offers an easy solution to this problem: customers can purchase voucher cards in more than 4000 stores around Switzerland, activate the cards online and convert them into bitcoins. The aim is to make buying cryptocurrencies as easy as possible – with no prior knowledge of blockchains, cryptocurrency or technical issues required.

Approach

Greenliff developed a uniform brand concept encompassing voucher cards, packaging, the website and even communications. We used an iterative approach to work on the design, front end and back end simultaneously. We designed the user journey to be as intuitive as possible across all analogue and digital touchpoints.

Online functionality and visibility at the POS

The practical store finder on the cryptonow website directs buyers to their nearest retailer. At the point of sale, the orange colour connects the product to bitcoin as a brand. As a contrast colour, purple attracts attention and powerfully differentiates cryptonow from other voucher cards at the POS. Online, we combine the modern, minimal font in the logo with friendly illustrations. This lends the brand an appealing yet trustworthy look and feel.

Easy, secure online activation

We use modern web technologies such as Angular and Bootstrap to make the website light and user-friendly. The website is made up of just a single page and features lively videos that show the user what cryptonow is all about. A streamlined assistant guides the user through the secure, simple online activation process.

Technical implementation of security measures

We developed the project as a single-page application, which allows for a dynamic, seamless user experience. In addition to user-friendliness and speed, we placed a great deal of importance on security. Using state-of-the-art technologies, we integrated measures into the communication with the back end to effectively prevent third-party access. At the same time, we actively protected the website against bots that try to access data or activate accounts.
